Dazzling Dining
Does your dining room look tired and unimpressive? Here are a few quick fixes to dazzle your guests and freshen your decor.
Change your host and hostess chairs so they are different from the side chairs. For example, if your side chairs have wooden backs, place chairs with upholstered backs, preferably higher than the side chairs, at either end of the table. Borrow them from another room, or purchase new ones. It’s a lot less expensive than all new dining room furniture.
Is your china hutch too small and insignificant? If it’s too short, you may want to consider placing a picture or oil paining above it to give it more height. If it appears under-scaled for the room, adding candle sconces to either side of it will fill the wall to give it more presence.
Add flattering low lights by placing matching lamps on either side of a buffet. Many dining rooms have chandeliers or ceiling cans, but low lighting can really add soft ambiance. A pair of dining room lamps, whether in a traditional or contemporary setting, may be just what your dining room needs.
Baker Sale – Newsletter
Baker Sale – 40% off
Through October 12, 2010 One Posh Place is hosting the semi-annual Baker Sale. Stop by our store today to see additional items available and in stock.
Some of the items we have featured are: Chest on Chest, French Side Table, Wavy Leg Table, Bedside Table, Hassock, Bedside Chest, Chair Side Table, Side Table, and Venetian Hall Table. More items are in our showroom.

Custom Upholstery
Make the old (or damaged) new again by simply adding new upholstery! While it may be expensive to re-do an entire sofa, accent items like ottomans and benches are relatively inexpensive to re-upholster and a great way to update your room.

The creative use of an old rug on this custom upholstered footstool is a great way to add texture and interest when paired with a plain leather chair.
